Hello all,
A bit of background (I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area):
I have had chronic sitting discomfort (like sitting on a baseball) for 2 1/2 years. No tests/scans/x-rays have turned up anything unusual. I have had two recent steriod injections in that area (perineum/tailbone) to no avail.
As a result I have been working via video with Dr. Marvin Perez at Kaiser for several weeks emphasizing PRT, and have one more appt. coming up. He has been great at explaining the process and helping me with somatic tracking and positive visualization.
However, the pain hasn't subsided.
Years ago I had success with neck pain using Dr. John Sarno's method. PRT seems to be a more refined version of Sarno's method so it seems like the best direction to take.
Would love to hear from anyone who has had success with PRT. I know it is valid and have read The Way Out several times, just not seeing progress. I feel like I'm doing something wrong.
Cheers, and thanks for reading.

Hello hmac,
i just found my way back here to the PRT forum and read your post.
I read Alan’s book several times a few years ago and got discouraged. I had had great success with Sarno‘s books for years before. Fast forward to now and am having another symptom imperative and have re-read The Divided Mind and Healing Back Pain and am starting to do the work-journaling and reading, etc.

Thank you for replying! I think I need to begin journaling again. This has been suggested by my therapist and strongly emphasized in some Zoom meetings I have watched on this site.
I have not kept up with it this time around so will start a daily session now.

Hmac- I’ve been working through the TMS Structured Education Program - reading daily and journaling too. This means the pencil sharpener is getting a workout. Also, I got the updated edition of Howard Schubiner‘s Unlearn Your Pain and find it interesting. So, I spend time in the mornings reading a bit and some time in the afternoon scribbling my thoughts.
I’m finding these things very helpful.
